Skindred have shared a new single called If I Could.
Following Gimme That Boom and Set Fazers, the track offers a catchy chorus over the band's familiar fusion of stadium rock, metal, reggae and dancehall. It serves as the latest preview of their eighth album, 'Smile', which is scheduled to arrive on August 4 via Earache Records.
Frontman Benji Webbe explained that the song reflects upon moving on from the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, and revealed how much brighter things are now:
"On the other hand, 2023 is a different story. We’ve released new music and we’re still to drop another few monsters from our album 'Smile'. We’ve got the KISS tour coming, and we’ve also got our headline tour supporting the new album. So 2023, to me, looks like a very exciting time to be in Skindred. I’m very optimistic about the future!"
As mentioned above, Skindred have shows scheduled for the spring and summer, including Bearded Theory Festival in May, 2000trees in July, and dates supporting rock icons KISS at their final UK concerts in June and July. They also have their own headline tour mapped out for the autumn. Tickets are on sale.
