Bonnie "Prince" Billy Announces New Album 'Keeping Secrets Will Destroy You', Shares First Single

Bonnie "Prince" Billy, real name Will Oldham, has announced a new album.
'Keeping Secrets Will Destroy You' is scheduled to arrive on August 11 via Domino, and was recorded in Louisville by Nick Roeder. It was played as live as possible with contributions from Sara Louise Callaway on violin, Kendall Carter on keys, Elisabeth Fuchsia on viola and violin, Dave Howard on mandolin, Drew Miller on saxophone, and Dane Waters on backing vocals.
As a preview, the singer-songwriter has shared the first single from the record, Bananas, a sparse, acoustic guitar-led duet with Waters, which comes paired with a hand-animated video by Ethan Osman. Oldham has yet to comment on the project, but a message posted to his Bandcamp page reads:
"'Keeping Secrets Will Destroy You' is a tale as old as time. It’s an album. Its songs and music are by and for people together. For listening together. Before it gets too late. Bonnie "Prince" Billy stands at the nexus of all the kinds of music he can summon, with friends, with family and community. All roads roll though him. There can be no holding back. A million billion moments are on the line. He’s gonna tell us about a world…"
The last Bonnie "Prince" Billy album came in the form of 2019's 'I Made a Place', though Oldham has dropped two collaborative albums since then. He has tour dates booked throughout the summer and into fall.
