Bonnie McKee is back with a new song, SLAY.

The empowering synth-driven anthem marks the Los Angeles-based hitmaker's first new music since her 2020 bop Kick Your Shoes Off, from the soundtrack to the television series Royalties.

It serves as the lead single of her second album, 'Hot City', due out sometime in the autumn, though a release date is still to be announced. She wrote on social media:

"Some things will haunt you. And this album was one of them. I locked it away for a decade thinking nobody wanted it, but that little voice inside me kept singing. And against literally everyone in the industry's advice, I said f*** it - Im putting it out. For you guys, for myself."

McKee, who has penned chart-topping songs for Katy Perry, Britney Spears and Kesha, released her debut album, 'Trouble', in 2004. Her latest body of work came in the form of 2015's digital EP 'Bombastic'.
