Chris Farren Shares New Single First Place Featuring Jeff Rosenstock

Chris Farren has shared a new single featuring Jeff Rosenstock on saxophone.
The dreamy and danceable indie-pop track First Place is the third cut to be shared from his Jay Som-produced new album, 'Doom Singer', which is due for release on August 4 via Polyvinyl. It follows Bluish and Cosmic Leash. Farren said:
“‘First Place’ used to be very different and I hated it, but Melina (Jay Som) said it was too good to not put on the record, so I figured out everything I hated about it (the old lyrics, mostly) and we changed it to the beautiful single you hear today. My friend Jeff Rosenstock plays saxophone on it.”
The song arrives with a video directed by comedian, actress and writer Mitra Jouhari, who said: “Chris went full method. It was really scary at first but ultimately so inspiring to see him dive so deep into his character (a singer named Chris Farren)."
The Florida-born singer-songwriter will support the record with a UK tour in late summer, and North American shows in the fall.
