Amigo the Devil, aka Danny Kiranos, has announced his new album.
'Yours Until the War Is Over' is scheduled to arrive on February 23 and features the newly shared lead single, Cannibal Within, a dark, banjo-driven folk track that explores themes of addiction, fear, depression, and self-destruction. Kiranos said:
"There’s a tiny little cannibal inside of us all and it feeds on our insecurities. The more it feeds on doubt, jealousy and self devaluation, the bigger it grows until it becomes bigger than we ourselves are. And then we’re left with nothing. We lose the war."
Commenting on the record's recording process, he added: "We had an amazing time making this record…it was mostly David Talley, Jason Dietz and I locked in a makeshift studio trying to learn our own boundaries and abilities. There are so many others to thank in addition to those two but that’ll come later. This is about the core of the experience and a small peak into where this was brought to life after the record was written.
It really is a little piece of our minds and a massive chunk of our doubts but mostly, every bit of heart we had to give. I’m grateful to have worked with them and so excited to start sharing these moments."
Amigo The Devil will kick off a fall US tour with a show in Philadelphia tonight (October 9). His most recent album is 2021's 'Born Against'.
