Green Day Announce Stadium Shows In UK, Ireland, Europe And North America For The Saviors Tour

Green Day will return to the UK and Ireland next summer as part of The Saviors Tour.

The pop-punk veterans have lined up massive concerts at Manchester's Emirates Old Trafford, Glasgow's Bellahouston Park, Dublin's Marlay Park and London's Wembley Stadium for June. The run will also include a headlining slot at the Isle Of Wight Festival on June 23.

The UK and Ireland dates will follow on from a run of shows across mainland Europe, which kicks off on May 30 at O Son do Camino festival in Monte De Gozo, Spain before stops in France, Germany and Italy.

Later in the summer, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool will continue the mammoth trek with a North America leg, beginning on July 29 at Washington, D.C.'s Nationals Park. They'll then head to major cities such as Toronto, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Nashville, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco and more, before concluding in San Diego on September 28.

A host of support acts have been confirmed for the tour, with The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas set to perform in North America. Nothing But Thieves, The Hives, Donots, The Interrupters and Maid of Ace will open across the UK and Europe.

Tickets for the UK and European leg go on general sale at 9.30am GMT/10.30am CET next Friday (November 10). The North American dates go on general sale the same day at 10am local time. 

The news arrives hot on the heels of details of the trio's 14th studio album, 'Saviors', due out on January 19 via Reprise/Warner Records. The tour will see the band showcasing new music from the follow-up to 2020's 'Father of All Motherfuckers', as well as celebrating 30 years of their 1994 major label debut 'Dookie' and 20 years of 2004's 'American Idiot'. The band said:

"We’ve never been more excited to unleash new music than with 'Saviors', a record that’s meant to be rocked live, together. So let’s thrash. We’ve got some amazing friends who are coming along for the ride!"

Earlier this week, Green Day confirmed a surprise last minute gig at the 1,500-capacity Bataclan in Paris for this Saturday (November 4).
