Billy Joel Shares First New Song In Nearly Two Decades Turn The Lights Back On

Billy Joel has released his first new song in nearly two decades.
Produced by the renowned Freddy Wexler, who has previously worked with Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Blackpink, P!nk, Selena Gomez and Celine Dion, Turn The Lights Back On brings to an end to the legendary singer-songwriter's 17-year recording hiatus.
Co-written by Joel, Wexler and additional collaborators Wayne Hector and Arthur Bacon, the romantic, strings-assisted ballad is currently streaming on digital platforms, and will also be released on limited edition 7" vinyl via Columbia Records.
The 74-year-old's last release came in the form of a one-off single in 2007 titled All My Life, while his most recent studio album came in 2001 with the classical collection 'Fantasies & Delusions'. His last pop record is 1993's 'River Of Dreams'.
The Piano Man will wrap up his ongoing residency at New York City's Madison Square Garden in July with his 104th performance in the series.
He also has a number of US stadium shows lined up over the next few months, which will see him joined by Stevie Nicks, Sting, and Rod Stewart on select stops. He'll then return to the UK for his only European date of 2024, which will see him play the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales on August 9. Tickets are on sale now.
