The Menzingers Release New Single Gone West From 'Some Of It Was True (Deluxe)'

The Menzingers have released a new single, Gone West.
Offering their trademark melodic punk sound with huge hooks and bigger choruses, the guitar-driven track will appear on the deluxe edition of the Philadelphia punks' 2023 album, 'Some Of It Was True', which is due out this Friday (May 31). Vocalist and guitarist Tom May commented:
"We recorded Gone West at the same time as 'Some Of It Was True', and although we didn’t think it fit just right on the album, it has some of my favorite guitar and vocal melodies.
"The lyrics are a tongue-in-cheek play on accepting the truth of your own mortality. I always thought ‘goin’ west’ was an interesting euphemism for dying; following the sun."
The expanded version of the record will also include another new recording, The Last One Killed Me. Check out the full tracklist below.
The Menzingers have a run of US tour dates scheduled for June. They'll also head to Australia and New Zealand in August.
In the fall, they'll celebrate the 10th anniversary of their 'Rented World' LP with a show in their adoptive hometown of Philadelphia on November 29, before two dates at The Underworld in London on December 6 and 7. Tickets are on sale.
