Jessica Simpson has returned with her first new music in nearly 15 years.
The country-tinged Use My Heart Against Me serves as the first preview of 'Nashville Canyon', a new two-part EP from the singer and actress. The first part will arrive on March 21, followed by part two in the summer.
Posting about the release on Instagram, she shared that the track, "was inspired by the artists from the roots of Rock and Roll like Betty James, Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry to name a few. The Chess Records approach was one we talked about in regards to the rhythm section, Rock and Roll with emphasis on the ROLL."
In a separate post about the song, she wrote: "Music makes you un-become to become, and through this process my soul has been pulled to the very place it belongs. To the girl I was, I love you. To the woman I am, I am proud of you. To the woman I am becoming, I am excited for you….lets do this…it’s GO TIME."
Simpson's previously release was a cover of Particles by Nothing But Thieves in 2021. Her latest studio album is 2008's 'Do You Know', though she put out the festive record, 'Happy Christmas', in 2010.
