Fitz and The Tantrums have laid out plans for a new album.

The Los Angeles band will release 'Man On The Moon' through Atlantic Records on July 25, following up 2022's 'Let Yourself Free'. Commenting on the band's approach to recording, frontman Michael "Fitz" Fitzpatrick said:

"I decided I was simply going to write for my heart and for my soul and nobody else. At this point in our career, myself and the band feel we have complete creative licence. Because, c’mon, nobody knows what the rules are anymore. So I’m not going to chase some vapor in the wind. I’m going to just do what I want."

Co-lead vocalist Noelle Scaggs added: "We’ve never wanted to be stuck in a box. We refused to do that. With this project, we’re daring to be different."

To coincide with the announcement, the four-piece have shared the record's title track, which serves up an infectious Motown-inspired sound through their signature blend of dreamy indie-pop and neo-soul. It follows on from the first single to be lifted from the record, Ruin The Night, which arrived back in March.

The group have also scheduled their Man On The Moon Tour across North America between July 24 and August 31, featuring support from Ax and The Hatchetmen, Neal Francis, Snacktime, and Gable and Friends on select dates.

Founder and namesake of the Fitz and The Tantrums, Fitzpatrick released the solo album 'Summer Of Us' last November.
