Finneas Unveils Video Starring Kate Hudson For 'For Cryin' Out Loud!' Track 2001

Thursday, 15 May 2025 Written by Jon Stickler

Finneas has shared a video for 2001.

The track features on the Grammy-winning producer's sophomore studio album, 'For Cryin’ Out Loud!', which arrived last October.

The song's accompanying clip was directed by his longtime partner, Claudia Sulewski, and pays homage to the Stanley Kubrick classic sci-fi film 2001: A Space Odyssey. It also stars Kate Hudson in the role of the film's director. Sulewski said:

"Finneas plays an actor hopelessly in love with his director, who couldn’t care less and is only focused on making a great film.

"When I first started conceptualizing this music video, I knew I wanted to pay homage to 2001: A Space Odyssey, with nods to some of the film’s most iconic set ups like the fisheye lens and the upside-down sequence."

The Los Angeles artist will join Gracie Abrams, Gigi Perez, Paris Paloma, Hazlett, Jo Hill, Sebastian Schub, Sydney Rose, Kevin Atwater and Lily Fitts in supporting Noah Kahan at London series BST Hyde Park on July 4. He'll also appear at multiple European and North American festivals over the coming months. Tickets are on sale.
