Five years after releasing the song, Charli XCX has shared a video for Party 4 U.
The track features on her 2020 album, 'How I'm Feeling Now', which has been reissued on clear glitter vinyl for its fifth anniversary, while the song has recently gained renewed popularity, having become a viral hit on TikTok. Posting about the record on Instagram yesterday, she wrote:
"I felt like I rediscovered myself, my sanity + my sense of connection with the world, at a time where we were all so alone. To create with all of you helped me feel OK.
"It was all of us at our most raw, our most stripped, our most vulnerable. I will never forget it, and I really can’t believe that 5 years later one of the Angel favorites is having its own special moment."
The video, meanwhile, is directed by Mitch Ryan and features Charli navigating the chaotic aftermath of a house party.
The singer released her sixth studio album, 'Brat', last summer, which was followed by a deluxe edition called 'Brat And It's the Same But There's Three More Songs So It's Not' a few days after. Later that year, she put out a star-studded remix version, 'Brat and It’s Completely Different But Also Still Brat'.
The Grammy and BRIT Award-winner will headline multiple UK and European festivals this summer, including Manchester's Parklife and London's inaugural LIDO, alongside major outdoor shows in Dublin and Belfast. Tickets are on sale now.
