5SOS' Michael Clifford Announces Debut Solo Album 'Sidequest', Shares New Single Feat Waterparks

Friday, 23 May 2025 Written by Laura Johnson

Michael Clifford has announced his debut solo album.

The 5 Seconds Of Summer singer and guitarist will release 'Sidequest' on July 25. It will feature his previous single Cool, which arrived in April, and the new track Give Me A Break! featuring Waterparks.

The latter is a slick pop-punk earworm that arrives with a video directed by Luke Orlando and starring Waterparks' Awsten Knight in a storyline alongside Clifford.

5SOS released their fifth studio album, '5SOS5', in 2022, which they followed up with 'The Feeling Of Falling Upwards (Live from The Royal Albert Hall)' in 2023.

They've used the break to pursue solo projects, with vocalist-guitarist Luke Hemmings putting out his 'Boy' EP in spring 2024, the same year drummer and vocalist Ashton Irwin released his second solo album, 'Blood On The Drums'. Bassist and vocalist Calum Hood, meanwhile, is gearing up to release his debut solo LP, 'ORDER chaos ORDER', in June.

'Sidequest' tracklist:

  1. Kill Me For Always feat Porter Robinson
  2. Cool
  3. Give Me A Break! fett Waterparks
  4. Remember When
  5. Enough
  6. Fashion
  7. Thirsty
  8. Nosebleed
  9. If I Had A Choice feat Ryan Hall
  10. Eclipse
