Mac DeMarco Announces New Album 'Guitar' With Lead Single Home

Mac DeMarco has announced a new album.
Written and recorded in full last autumn at the Canadian singer-songwriter's home in Los Angeles, 'Guitar' will arrive on August 22 via Mac's Record Label, following up his two 2023 LPs, the 199-track 'One Wayne G' and the instrumental 'Five Easy Hot Dogs'. DeMarco commented:
"I think 'Guitar' is as close to a true representation of where I’m at in my life today as I can manage to put to paper. I’m happy to share this music, and look forward to playing these songs as many places as I’m able."
As a preview, the multi-instrumentalist has shared the lead single from the record, Home, a warm, stripped back guitar-led track about what home means to him. Head below to view the song's self-directed video, which shows DeMarco canoeing near his mother's new home in Canada.
He'll support the LP with a previously scheduled North American tour this summer, followed by UK and European shows in the autumn, and a round of Canadian dates in December. Tickets are on sale now.
