AFI Introduce New Album With First Song In Four Years Behind The Clock

AFI have returned with their first new music in four years.
Serving up a dark, post-punk sound, Behind The Clock arrives with a Gilbert Trejo-directed video and offers the first glimpse of the goth-punk band's upcoming 12th studio album, 'Silver Bleeds The Black Sun...', due out October 3.
Produced by the band's own Jade Puget, it marks their first full-length release under Run For Cover Records and follows their 2021 LP, 'Bodies'. Frontman Davey Havok said:
"I realize this is something we’ve said about our records for years, but this record is starkly different from what we’ve done in the past. In our 33 years together, we’ve covered so much, musically, that I found myself daunted at the prospect of doing something different, and questioning what that would be."
On the clip, Trejo commented: "We wanted the video to feel like you’re seeing something you shouldn’t. In effect you are, because that’s how Davey writes lyrics. He’s expressing himself so openly, that you’re let behind this curtain. It’s a world that most artists don’t cut to, marrow deep."
AFI will embark on a previously announced headline US tour this fall, featuring support from TR/ST. Tickets are on sale now.
