NewDad have shared another track from their upcoming second album.
More introspective than the grungy lead single Roobosh, Pretty serves as a dreamy and heartfelt tribute to the band's roots, reflecting on their love and appreciation for their hometown of Galway in Ireland. Head below to view the song's striking video, filmed in the city and directed by long-time collaborator Peter Eason Daniels. Vocalist Julie Dawson said:
"Pretty is a lighter spin on a key theme of the album, homesickness. It was a way for me to express my adoration for Galway, it’s a love song really.
"Coming to a place like London that’s so chaotic and overwhelming really made me appreciate the peace and quiet of home. Also the landscape, being able to see wide open fields and roads with no one on them it’s just so calming and I’m in love with it. That’s why I wrote this song."
Pretty serves as the latest preview of 'Altar', which is due out on September 19. The follow-up to 2024's 'MADRA' also features the tracks Puzzle and Entertainer from the trio's 'Safe' EP that arrived back in May.
NewDad will support the LP with dates in North America this month, before touring Europe and the UK in the autumn. Tickets are on sale now.
