The Wombats Share New Song X-Rated From Upcoming Extended Version Of 'Oh! The Ocean'

The Wombats have shared a new song, X-Rated.
An urgent, playful pop track about love after the honeymoon phase, it'll feature on the upcoming extended version of the Liverpool indie trio's sixth album, 2024's 'Oh! The Ocean', due out through AWAL Recordings on December 5. On the song, drummer Dan Haggis said:
"It's an upbeat summery pop tune about going through rough patches in a long-term relationship and trying to figure things out. Vampire Weekend meets Harry Styles on a cruise ship wearing really loud shirts with love hearts on."
The extended edition of 'Oh! The Ocean' includes the original tracks plus new songs produced by John Congleton, including the previously shared Holy Sugar.
The band are currently touring North America and will return to the UK in December for the second leg of their Oh! The Ocean Tour, performing at arenas in cities missed earlier this year.
They'll also headline Tunes In The Dunes on Perranporth Beach, Cornwall, in June, then join Snow Patrol in headlining Splendour Festival in Nottingham and top the bill at Cardiff's Depot In The Castle festival in July. Tickets are on sale now.
