Gogol Bordello have laid out plans for their ninth studio album.
The follow-up to 2022's 'Solidaritine' is titled 'We Mean It, Man!' and will arrive on February 13 via frontman Eugene Hütz's label Casa Gogol Records. The New York self-styled gypsy punks recorded the album with producers Nick Launay and Adam "Atom" Greenspan, and welcomed contributions from Grace Bergere, Puzzled Panther, and Bernard Sumner. Hütz said:
"Gogol Bordello has always been a cross-pollinator. And ‘We Mean It Man!’ brings all our original inspirations together more than any other: punk, gypsy music, hardcore, and techno.
"I conceived this album as a collaboration with one of my favorite producers of all time, Nick Launay, who’s been so much responsible for the flourishing of post-punk as a genre. In terms of boiled down multimedia collage this is the best Frankenstein we’ve done since 'Gypsy Punks'. This is our post-punk groove revenge."
The new record will include the previously released title track and the new single Hater Liquidator, which delivers a feel-good dancefloor vibe and a hopeful message of pushing through the "Roaring and Warring '20s."
The band have also announced a new North American tour for February and March, following their annual New Year's run of dates in December and January. Tickets for the new dates go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (November 21).
