Big Thief's Buck Meek Announces New Solo Album 'The Mirror', Shares Opening Track

Wednesday, 07 January 2026 Written by Jon Stickler

Big Thief guitarist Buck Meek has announced a new solo album.

Created alongside Big Thief drummer and producer James Krivchenia, 'The Mirror' will arrive on February 27, marking Meek's first full-length release under his own name since 2023's 'Haunted Mountain'.

It features a cast of guest contributors, including Big Thief's vocalist Adrianne Lenker, guitarist Adam Brisbin and bassist Ken Woodward, as well as appearances from visual artist and musician Alex Somers, harpist Mary Lattimore and vocalists Germaine Dunes, Staci Foster, and Jolie Holland.

Alongside the announcement comes the release of its opening track, Gasoline, which serves up frantic guitar strumming and arrives with a video directed by Noel Paul.

Meek will support the record with a tour of Europe and the UK in March and April, tickets for which are already on sale.

Meanwhile, Big Thief released their latest album, 'Double Infinity', last September. The Brooklyn band will continue their Somersault Slide 360 Tour with shows across Europe and the UK in the spring. Tickets are on sale now.
