Bruce Hornsby has announced a new album.
The three-time Grammy-winning singer, pianist and composer will release 'Indigo Park' through his own Zappo Productions and Thirty Tigers on April 3, following up 2024's 'Deep Sea Vents'.
Produced by Tony Berg, Will Maclellan and Hornsby, who's backed by his band The Noisemakers, the album began to take shape in 2024 as Hornsby turned 70. After putting out four albums across five years, he tried to step away from writing, but couldn't. He explained:
"It's just an old bastard, looking back. To be honest, I've found a way, a path to grow old gracefully, with help from some newborn friends of mine."
Among the 10 tracks on the album are collaborations with guitarist Blake Mills, bassist Pino Palladino, and drummer Chris Dave. There's also contributions from artists who have influenced Hornsby over the years; Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig, singer-songwriter Bonnie Raitt, and the late Grateful Dead legends Bob Weir and Robert Hunter, with Hunter co-writing two songs, Alabama and Might As Well Be Me, Florinda.
As a preview, Hornsby has shared the album's title track, which blends his signature melodic, piano‑driven sound with a laid-back groove and reflective lyrics.
Bruce Hornsby and The Noisemakers will perform music from 'Indigo Park' as well as hits from his four-decade career on a 24-date US tour in spring and summer, following additional US shows later this month. Head here for details. Tickets are on sale now.
Since 'Deep See Vents', Hornsby has put out three live releases: the 'Nickel For A Dime (Live Austin '93)' EP with Béla Fleck last month, 'Walk On (Live Concord '90)' last year, and 'Step By Step (Live New York '86) in 2024.
