Kelela Confirms Autumn London As Part Of New Avatar Live World Tour, Shares New Single Point Blank

Kelela has announced her new avatar live world tour.
The American singer will kick off the trek with North American dates between September 8 and October 17, including an appearance at Miami's III Points Festival, followed by the European leg later in the autumn, which wraps up with a performance at London's O2 Academy Brixton on November 4. Tickets for all dates go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (June 5).
The tour takes its name from her upcoming third album, 'new avatar', due out on July 10 via Warp Records. It'll include her recent singles linknb and idea 1, along with the newly shared track point blank, a dark, electronic offering that combines Kelela's R&B vocals with atmospheric production by Oscar Scheller. She explained:
"I first outline the baseline dynamic, which is that we're expected to endure men's inability to self-regulate. The fantasy many of us are invested in is one where we do such a good job of holding space that it starts to rub off on our partner over time, eventually inducing some sort of revelation and building their emotional maturity. Yet the more we pour into men, the more entitled they become. We are down bad."
