corto.alto Announces New Album 'SOME SMALL FORTUNE' With New Single GO

corto.alto, the project of multi-instrumentalist and producer Liam Shortall, has announced a new album.
The Dumfries-born, Glasgow-raised artist will release 'SOME SMALL FORTUNE' on September 4 via Ninja Tune, following 2024's '30/108' and 2023's Mercury Prize-nominated 'Bad With Names'. It will feature his earlier 2026 singles WHODIS and THIEF, and his 2025 tracks APRIL and DON'T LISTEN.
Drawing from hip hop, electronica, classical, indie and broken beat, the album features his most diverse range of collaborators yet, including Mick Jenkins, anaiis, Jacob Alon, Oscar Jerome, BINA., Terra Kin and Eriff, as well as his long-time Glaswegian band. Shortall said:
"I wanted to write songs with artists that I love and have a proper collaboration with them, rather than be a control freak. That’s why I reached out to someone like Mick Jenkins, who I’ve listened to forever, and the amazing Scottish songwriter Jacob Alon, as well as a shapeshifter like BINA.. I’m entering a different world with this music."
Alongside the announcement, Shortall has shared the high-energy new single GO, which pairs rhythm-driven production with a guest appearance from Nigerian lyricist Vector and comes with a video shot on location in Lagos.
The corto.alto band will head out for their biggest UK and European tour to date this autumn, before a homecoming show at Glasgow's Barrowland Ballroom in January. They'll also play shows across North America next month.
