Deep Purple Share New Single Guilt Trippin' Ahead Of SPLAT! Release

Deep Purple have released a new single, Guilt Trippin'.
Pairing the British legends' classic hard rock sound with one of frontman Ian Gillan's most standout vocal performances, the track imagines God and Charles Darwin reflecting over a drink on how things on Earth have not gone as planned, while its accompanying video follows a fly and a sycamore-seed spaceship on a surreal journey. On recording the track, Gillan said:
"The song starts, and I’m in the studio. I don’t have any words for it yet. So I just start screaming. It was the pure joy of yelling it. I vowed when I was 40 that I’d stop screaming by the time I was 60. Now I’m looking back and thinking, ‘Whatever happened to that?’ So we’ll give it a go."
Guilt Trippin' is the latest preview of the band's upcoming album, 'SPLAT!', due out through earMUSIC on July 3. Their earlier singles, Diablo featuring Grammy-winner Keith Urban and Arrogant Boy, will also appear on the record.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees — completed by Ian Paice, Don Airey and Simon McBride — are currently amid a summer European tour, ahead of kicking off the SPLAT! World Tour in North America later this summer, with support from Kansas and Jefferson Starship on select dates.
They'll continue the tour across Europe and the UK in the autumn, followed by dates in South America and Mexico in December. Tickets for all shows are on sale now.
Ian Gillan has also scheduled his own series of spoken word shows for 2027, billed as The Taking Gib'rish Tour, which kicks off on April 28 in Bournemouth and wraps up on May 29 in London. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (June 26).
