System Of A Down and Faith No More will team up for shows across Australia and New Zealand early next year.
The four-city run will kick off on January 22 at Sydney's Accor Stadium, followed by shows at Melbourne's Marvel Stadium on January 27, Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium on February 1 and Wellington's Hnry Stadium in New Zealand on February 7.
The announcement comes after fans noticed System Of A Down and Faith No More logos popping up in different spots across both countries over the past few days. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (July 31).
The shows will be System Of A Down's first in Australia since they played Soundwave Festival in 2012, and follow a huge UK and European stadium tour, which included two nights at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this month. They'll also headline Sick New World Texas in October.
The Grammy-winning metallers haven't released a full album since 2005's 'Hypnotize', though they returned in 2020 with two songs, Protect The Land and Genocidal Humanoidz, to raise money for the Armenia Fund. Since then, the band members have focused on other projects, with frontman Serj Tankian collaborating with Tom Morello on Adjourn It in May, while guitarist Daron Malakian released 'Addicted To The Violence' with his band Scars On Broadway last year.
Alt-metal legends Faith No More last toured Australia in 2015 for Soundwave Festival. They have largely been inactive since releasing their comeback album 'Sol Invictus' that same year, though they've since put out a handful of live recordings, the most recent being last year's 'Pull Me Down (Live)' EP. They last played live in 2016 and have cancelled several planned tours since then. Most recently, frontman Mike Patton teamed up with folk-rock group The Avett Brothers to launch AVTT/PTTN, with the self-titled debut album arriving last November.
