Gang Of Youths have unveiled a video for their single Things Take Time.
The track was released last month as the Australian indie-rock quartet's first new music in four years, while also marking the start of a new chapter with Mosy Recordings, Sony Music Australia, RCA UK and Arista US.
The video, meanwhile, reflects the song's restrained, warm, reflective feel, showing the band performing alongside a series of loosely connected scenes, each setting you up to expect one thing before taking a different turn. Director Nano Clow said:
"A series of chaotic, largely unconnected vignettes where each scene sets you up to expect one thing and then plays out in a completely unexpected way.
"We wanted the whole thing to feel like a kind of cacophony of randomness or entropy – increasingly strange situations piling up without ever really resolving into a logical world. Tonally, it's meant to sit somewhere between surreal/Lynchian/fun/funny, but played completely straight so the humour comes from how unexpected and inexplicable everything is."
The band, comprising David Le’aupepe, Jung Kim, Donnie Borzestowski and Tom Hobden, released their latest album, 'angel in realtime.', in 2022, followed shortly by the 'immolation tape' EP, featuring acoustic and alternate versions of its songs.
They'll headline sold-out shows in Paris, Amsterdam, Manchester and London between November 28 and December 2, with more dates to be announced soon.
