Kenny Rogers is an American country pop singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from Houston, Texas.
Starting his music career in 1958, when he performed in bands including The First Edition for ten years, he signed a solo record deal with United Artists in 1976. He released his debut album, ‘Love Lifted Me’, in 1976, but it wasn’t until his self-titled second album in 1977 that he gained wider notoriety, hitting #14 in the UK Albums Chart. He’s released over 20 albums, and nine holiday albums, and as well as collaborations and compilation records. He’s managed to get 120 of his hit singles in the chart including The Gambler, Lady, Islands In The Stream, Lucille, Coward of the County, She Believes In Me, and many more, and has been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Dream come true...unbelievable!!!!
Cape Town Grand West Arena on June 18 2015
We are 3 generations of Kenny fans, started when we grew up with his music in our house, and we went on with the tradition with our children. My sons sings his songs at karaoke and dreams of meeting him in person. So sad we cannot afford the tickets. We love you Kenny.
