Levitation is a music and arts festival held across multiple venues in Austin, Texas.
Launched in 2008 as Austin Psych Fest, the festival was founded by members of The Black Angels, and renamed Levitation in 2015 in honour of Austin psychedelic pioneers, The 13th Floor Elevators. Over the years, it has grown into one of North America's leading independent music festivals, showcasing psychedelic rock, indie, punk, electronic, experimental and underground artists, having previously seen performances from The Flaming Lips, Tame Impala, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Primal Scream, Spiritualized, Brian Wilson, Animal Collective, Flying Lotus, Slowdive, Ween, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Panda Bear, The Zombies, Warpaint, The Raveonettes, Kendrick Lamar, Björk, LCD Soundsystem and many more. Levitation Festival returns in September 2026, with Bikini Kill, American Football, Molchat Doma, Smerz, Die Spitz, The Garden, Angine De Poitrine, Butthole Surfers and many more.
