Neil Finn is a New Zealand-based rock singer-songwriter and musician hailing from Te Awamutu. Born in 1958, he’s one of the Southern Hemisphere’s most popular rock and roll exports, having picked up many awards and accolades in his 35+ year career.
Finn made a name for himself as the co-frontman of Split Enz (a position he shared with his brother Tim), and has since gone on to embark on a successful solo career - while he also now fronts the band Crowded House too, and is even the driving force in charitable music project 7 Worlds Collide.
It was Crowded Houses’ initial split in 1996 that led to Finn taking things into his own hands, going on to release debut solo effort ‘Try Whistling This’ two years later. Hitting #5 in the UK and topping both charts Down Under, he soon hit the road for a world tour. Playing live is his forte - he was always a performer and his years of experience have turned him into a formidable onstage force.
In 2014, he’s set to deliver what is just his third full solo effort ‘Dizzy Heights’, the follow-up to his 2001 second LP ‘One Nil’. As usual, he’s hitting the road in support of it, and arrives in the UK in April. He’s only got better with age, so make sure you don’t miss out - check below to find tickets!
