Patti Labelle is an American singer-songwriter and musician hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Born in 1944, she has enjoyed over 50 successful years in the music industry after becoming interested in music and singing from a young age. She formed her first girl group in the late '50s, inspired by original rhythm and blues and doo-wop music. This outfit would grow into the Blue Belles, and later, Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles. She embarked on a solo career in 1977, and has since sold over 50million records worldwide. She has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Apollo Hall of Fame, and the Songwriters' Hall of Fame, and won two Grammys among various other awards. Her most recent studio album is 2017's 'Bel Hommage', which marked her first regular studio album in a decade.
