Sharon Van Etten is an American indie and folk singer-songwriter hailing from Brooklyn, New York. Born in 1981, she’s also a talented musician and is accomplished guitarist, pianist, and percussionist as well as vocalist.

Working her way up the music scene after getting demos out to friends like TV on the Radio’s Kyp Malone and radio DJ Jeffery Davison, she earned herself a deal with Jagjaguwar and Ba Da Bing Records, and started getting her music out to fans. She’s now four records deep, with the most recent being 2014’s ‘Are We There?’ and 2015's 'I Don’t Want To Let You Down'

Back in 2018, Etten is currently working on the follow-up to these albums, having re-issued her debut, '(it was) because i was in love' in 2017. She has now confirmed a BBC Late Night Proms performance in May with support from serpentwithfeet and Hercules and the Love Affair, in collaboration with the Heritage Orchestra.
