Yellow Ostrich are an American indie-rock band hailing from Brooklyn, New York. Formed in 2009, and consisting of frontman Alex Schaaf, keyboard-player Jared Van Fleet, bassist Zach Rose, and drummer Michael Tapper, the band have quickly grown into one of the best new shoegaze style indie bands to come out of the the US in recent years.
Making a name for themselves with early EPs and demos - which were even enough to convince former The Antlers star Jon Natchez to briefly perform with the band for a while - they earned a deal with Barsuk Records and have since release four feature length collections.
