André Lauren Benjamin, better known as André 3000, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, musician, and actor from Atlanta, Georgia.
Best known for being one-half of hip hop duo Outkast, alongside Big Boi, he released six studio albums with the rap group, which featured the singles Ms. Jackson, Roses, So Fresh, So Clean and Elevators (Me & You), among others. After the duo split in 2007, he had a number of guest appearances on songs and albums by numerous artists, and in 2023, he put out his long-awaited debut solo record, 'New Blue Sun', which features his work as a flautist. Outside of music, André 3000 has acted in films and television series such as The Shield, Revolver, Semi-Pro, and in the lead role of Jimi Hendrix in All Is by My Side. André 3000 will support his new solo album with a tour of the US early in 2024. He will also appear at a number of European festivals in the summer, including We Out Here Festival in Dorset, the UK.
