The BBC Radio 6 Music Festival is a music event set up by BBC and their Radio 6 station, and held in a different city each year.
First held at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse, where fans were treated to the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Metronomy, Midlake, Bombay Bicycle Club, Kelis, and more, and even a silent disco with Groove Armada and others too.
In 2015 the BBC 6 Music festival took place in Tyneside, reaching venues like the O2 Academy Newcastle and the Sage, Gateshead, with acts like Sleater Kinney, Interpol, Hot Chip, The Charlatans, The War On Drugs, Maxïmo Park, and many confirmed to play.
In 2016, the festival came to Bristol, taking place at Motion, O2 Academy, and Colston Hall, with performances from Primal Scream, Savages, Roots Manuva, Suede, Daughter, Tricky, Roisin Murphy, Foals, Everything Everything, Polica, and Frank Turner.
The BBC 6 Music Festival returns for another year, this time in Glasgow, in March, with Jesus and Mary Chain, Goldfrapp, Ride, Warpaint, The Shins, Grandaddy, Depeche Mode, Belle & Sebastian and Father John Misty.
