Sophie Ellis-Bextor Confirms First UK Tour In Three Years & Tickets

Pop singer and songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor has announced a full UK winter tour.

Its been a startling 10 years since Sophie Ellis-Bextor came into the musical limelight providing vocals on Number One hit ‘Groovejet’. However, as distant as that may seem, the Bittersweet singer has somehow remained as youthful as ever and at the same time kept the nation’s dancefloors full with her endless supply of frosty-but-feisty dancefloor-fillers.

Periodically pausing from music to have a couple of kids with her husband singer Richard Jones from The Feeling, Sophie Ellis-Bextor recently supported the Pet Shop Boys on the UK leg of their ‘Pandemonium Tour’. Sophie’s newly announced tour will be her first jaunt in three years following on from her 2007 album ‘Trip The Light Fantastic’.

Returning with fourth new album ‘Straight To The Heart’, which is said to be inspired by her recent venture as a club DJ, Sophie confirmed her new tour via her Twitter page, announcing that, “"I'm going on tour, people! come and see me..."

The tour consists of six dates and kicks-off in Brighton on December 12th. The show will roll through venues in London, Bournemouth, Manchester and Birmingham before concluding in Oxford on December 19th.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s fourth album is set for release in October.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor will play the following UK dates:

December 2010

12th Concorde 2, Brighton
13th O2 Academy, Islington, London
16th Firestation, Bournemouth
17th Academy 2, Manchester
18th O2 Academy 2, Birmingham
19th O2 Academy, Oxford

Tickets are on sale from 9am on Friday 13th August.
