Gorillaz' visionary Damon Albarn has spoken to media saying that he can not "keep going at this size and pace", suggesting the band's current tour may be their last of this magnitude.
Both Albarn and band mate Jamie Hewlett have spoken about the toll these massive shows has on them.
Albarn said "It's been an unqualified success - bizarrely. But as far as communicating an idea to an audience, who knows? We always think that when we get to a point where we've achieved something that it's time to stop."
Albarn did say, although, they would "see how we feel in January" (when the current tour finishes) before they made any major decisions.
The last date on the tour is on December 21st, in Auckland - this could prove to the biggest and most epic show of Gorillaz's career, at least so far.
Hewlett concerningly said "This would be a wonderful point to leave Gorillaz, at the end of this tour, I think. That's not a statement, I'm just saying if that were the case... Gorillaz is more like a big sprawling gang of people you could do any number of projects with."
The supergroup have already completed their tour of the U.S., Canada and Europe, as well as playing at Coachella, Glastonbury, Roskilde, Benicassim and Byblos festivals, showing the size of their hectic schedule.
Gorillaz have five dates left on their Escape To Plastic Beach World Tour -
December 8th in Adelaide
December 11th in Melbourne
December 16th in Sydney
December 19th in Brisbane
December 21st in Auckland
