Faroe Islands-based solo artist Teitur is to release his fourth album ‘Let The Dog Drive Home’ on 11th April. It follows his 2008 release and UK debut ‘The Singer’, which received worldwide critical acclaim. ‘Let The Dog Drive Home’ will be preceded by the single ‘Betty Hedges’. Details of a UK tour are expected soon. Check back with Stereoboard.com for further announcements.
‘Let The Dog Drive Home’ was recorded in Copenhagen, Denmark and the Faroe Islands. It is Teitur’s fourth album to be sung in English. His 2007 release ‘Kata Hornio’ was recorded in his native Faroese. Teitur’s music has earned him a number of well-known fans, including KT Tunstall and Rufus Wainwright, and has seen him perform support slots for the likes of Suzanne Vega and John Mayer.
Speaking about the album, Teitur said: “Most of these songs are about letting go, about being small and the realisation that things seldom turn out the way you expect them to. I can only hope these songs will become someone else’s modest companion and I feel honoured that anyone would even listen to it once - although it’ll probably take more than one listen to be moved.”
