Emo-rockers The Get Up Kids have announced they will play a show at London's KOKO on Wednesday 5th October.
The Get Up Kids write great catchy poppy emo-rock songs filled with terrific melodies, sing-a-longable heartfelt lyrics, and great vocals that convey a mood of sunny afternoon heartbreak.
Due to some internal conflicts, the band broke up in 2005. In 2008 the band announced a 2009 reunion tour to support the tenth anniversary re-release of 'Something to Write Home About', their most successful studio album. Soon after the reunion, the band entered the studio to write new material. In early 2010, the band released 'Simple Science', their first release in six years. Sometime this year they will release their new album 'There Are Rules'.
