Thrash gods Metallica have shifted their focus to making a new 3D film about themselves following the completion of their Lou Reed collaboration album ‘Lulu’.
The metal veterans will pay for the film themselves, and have already revealed that Charlotte Huggins, who worked on 3D best-seller ‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth’, to help produce the film with them. The band are also currently searching for a director to help make the film, but haven’t secured anyone as of yet.
Not much has been said about the film yet, so whether it’ll be a documentary, live concert or even an actual feature film is still to be revealed – the only thing that is really know is that it’ll be filmed in 3D. They’ve previously made a documentary film entitled ‘Some Kind of Monster’, which they put out in 2004. The film depicted the band’s attempts to get back to their old ways after the loss of bassist Jason Newsted and frontman James Hetfield to rehab.
Their ‘Lulu’ album sees a full release on Halloween (31st) but is being streamed online right now.
