My Son Inspired Anti-Bullying Book, Says 50 Cent

American rap icon 50 Cent has claimed that his son influenced him into writing his new anti-bullying novel, after the child told his father of a friend who had suffered at the hands of bullies.

50’s new book ‘Playground’, which is said to be semi-autobiographical, came out on November 1st and deals with the issues of bullying, specifically addressing the story of a character who is targeted as he is overweight – a problem which Fiddy says is ‘common right now’. The book takes bullying from the perpetrators point of view, as he tries to explain to his son (and all of his readers) that bullies are expressing and expelling their emotions in the wrong way.

“I was inspired to write this project based on a conversation with my son,” the rapper told MTV. “He was telling about someone else who was experiencing being bullied around him, and in order to explain the scenario, I had to explain it from the actual bully's perspective and say that he's dealing with his emotions the wrong way.

“He's [the main character] dealing with weight issues: he's overweight, and you know how common childhood obesity is right now. Bullying doesn't necessarily mean hitting or physically hurting someone. It can be something that you say that emotionally hurts the person.”

50 Cent is due to release his fifth studio album sometime in December this year, though no official date has been set. Stick with Stereoboard for more 50 Cent information.
