Mani Parts Ways With Primal Scream After Final New Years Eve Gig

Scottish alternative rockers Primal Scream have parted ways with long-time band-member Gary Mounfield, a.k.a Mani, after 15 years of performing together.
Mani has been an integral part of Primal Scream since 1996, after leaving the disbanded Stone Roses and accepting an offer to join the band as their bassist. Now that the Stone Roses have reunited, Mani has decided that it would be best to leave his Primal Scream post to concentrate on the mega-shows that the Stone Roses have lined-up for summer.
The final show was held in Edinburgh’s West Princes Street Gardens, the venue of the city’s annual Hogmanay Bash, and saw the band play through 12 of their tracks – stopping half way through to celebrate the New Year. They began the set with some of their much older hits, before moving on to some of their more recent material.
