One mystery person has clearly been given some duff information about this year’s Download Festival – after edits were made to the Wikipedia page showing a hilarious couple of names he predicted to be part of the 8pm announcement which is scheduled for tonight.
The legendary festival is shaping up to be one of the best ever – with The Prodigy, Metallica and Black Sabbath all set to rock out the headlining slots come June later this year. But, with the only the headline acts confirmed so far, an announcement for 8pm tonight has been set which will most likely reveal the names of a number of bands and artists set to join the bill. Now, an online user has begun making his predictions – with the official Download Facebook page writing: “Looks like whoever is editing Wikipedia knows more about tonight's announcement than we do.”
The mystery editor changed the article so it read that legendary rapper 2Pac would be playing (he died in 1996), alongside Michael Jackson (who died in 2009), Johnny Cash (who died in 2003) and the original line-up of The Doors (frontman Jim Morrison died in 1971). Also on the bill would be urban star Tinie Tempah, and hip-hop bigwigs Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent. You have to admit, it’s funny thinking what it would be like to see hundreds of thousands of drunk, pierced metal heads moshing to Snoop Doggy Dogg. Bruce Forsyth would also be making appearance, as well as The Wombles, Greek God Helia, and Jesus himself.
And the editor wasn’t just supplying us with festival announcements, he also let us in on some top secret Killswitch Engaged news – after writing that Manchester City Football Club star Mario Balotelli was the most likely replacement for vocalist Howard Jones, who left the group earlier this year.
