Alternative rock icons Red Hot Chili Peppers have unveiled the latest pair of singles to be taken from their 18-strong collection of tracks they’re giving to the world over the next six months.
‘Magpies on Fire’ and ‘Victorian Machinery’ are the latest pair of songs from the world-famous band, who have taken it upon themselves to unleash 18 brand new tracks over the space of under a year. They’re set for a September 11th release - but you can check them out below.
They follow 'Strange Man' and 'Long Progression', which both came out earlier this month, and will be followed by 'Never Is A Long Time' and 'Love Of Your Life', expected out on October 2nd. The remainder of the tracks will come out later in 2012 or early on in 2013.
Drummer Chad Smith recently spoke of the band’s recent songwriting sessions whilst frontman Anthony Kiedis received treatment for a broken foot, saying: “Those [tracks] are just waiting. We'll go back to those when we start writing again, I'm sure - or not. We're just always trying to come up with new stuff; usually the latest and greatest is what we use, but you never know. If there's something that's really good or if Anthony's really connected to any of them, that sometimes has something to do with it, so we'll see."
