Green-Fanged Spider Found In Noel Gallagher's Guitar Case Leads To Festival Quarantine

Rockstars may be known for their backstage antics and shenanigans, but Mancunian Noel Gallagher managed to get the whole of the backstage area of the Jersey Live Festival shutdown over the weekend because of rather different reasons... After a rare, potentially lethal breed of green-fanged spider was found crawling inside one of his guitar cases!

The creature was found as crew unpacked Noel’s guitars in preparation for his headline slot at the festival - which also featured drum and bass stars Chase and Status - and forced managers to shut down the entire backstage area, putting the whole location into quarantine for 20 minutes.

Although it was quickly caught in a container, organisers had to make sure there weren’t any more - as their theories about the spider potentially being poisonous were reinforced by experts who have still yet to correctly identify exactly what spider it is. It’s thought that it likely crawled into the case during Noel’s recent South American and Asian tours.

Jayne Houghton, a spokesperson for Jersey Live, said of the incident: “The Jersey crew members were unpacking Noel’s flight cases when a huge black spider with green fangs came out with a flourish. Staff immediately set about catching the spider and an area backstage had to be quarantined for nearly twenty minutes.”

She added: “Luckily there were members of Durrells Wildlife Conservation Trust at the festival who kindly took the spider away for analysis.”
