Emily Eavis Reveals Her Dream Glastonbury Headliners - Adele And Led Zeppelin

Monday, 24 June 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Emily Eavis, daughter of Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis and co-organiser of the festival, has revealed that her dream headliners are hard-rock heroes Led Zeppelin and soul-singing superstar Adele.

Emily has become more of a force in the behind-the-scenes work at Glastonbury Festival HQ in recent years, and ahead of this year’s edition of the world-famous event she’s revealed to the BBC who she’d like to have headlining the festival in a perfect world.

Asked by the site if she had a post-it note of names stuck to her fridge, Emily replied:

“Yeah, it’s on a napkin actually. On the fridge, there... We would love to have Adele. And we’d also love to have Led Zeppelin. I mean Zeppelin have got to do it haven’t they? It would be so good, wouldn’t it?”

She went on to talk about this year’s festivals headliners - in particular the Rolling Stones, and how long it took to book them.

“I think there have been conversations [of booking the Stones] for forever. Since the beginning probably…Well, I think probably the last 20 years at least. A long time. The actual serious conversations have been taking place since the end of the last festival really.

“I think people have sort of envisioned this real struggle or fight or problems with money or whatever, which hasn’t been at all the case. They have totally played, they’re really up for it. They know what it is about and understand that everyone gets the same and we only got confirmation for it about 24 hours before they announced it.”
