Reading Festival Tops Stereoboard's Hot Ticket Chart

Thursday, 08 August 2013 Written by Stereoboard.com

Leading the way in the latest edition of Stereoboard's Hot Tickets chart is that famous old girl, Reading Festival. The event will once again wow fans of rock and indie over the course of the August bank holiday, with Green Day, Eminem and Biffy Clyro set to headline this year. Huge sets from Nine Inch Nails, System Of A Down and Foals are also set to spice up the main stage.

Hot on its heels is the rising star of the alt-pop world, Bastille, who has crashed in at number two, with extra dates confirmed for his long run of UK shows in October and November, including a brace of dates at the O2 Academy in Brixton.

American soul star Bruno Mars, who released 'Unorthodox Jukebox' back in 2012, is at number three and will hit the UK in October and November for a series of arena shows – including a three-night run at London's O2 Arena. He's beaten pop giant Will.i.am to third spot, with the 'Voice' judge nestled at number four as he prepares to bring his '#willpower' show to UK arenas in December.

The festival theme continues at number five with V Festival, which will land at Hylands Park and Weston Park on the weekend of August 17-18. Topping the bill this year are Beyonce and Kings of Leon, with the Script, Stereophonics, Beady Eye, Jessie J and more also set to take the stage.

One of popular music's most enduring songwriters is at number six on the list, with Leonard Cohen set to grace a number of halls during August and September, while the live incarnation of Brendan O'Carroll's BAFTA award-winning sitcom Mrs Brown's Boys is in at seven.

Rod Stewart will hit arenas in September and October, including a run of four shows at Glasgow's Hydro and a double at London's O2, and is at number eight, with comedian Lee Evans and dance duo Disclosure rounding out the top 10.

Outside the top 10, the giant figures of Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, Roger Waters, Eminem, Soundgarden, Black Sabbath and Stereophonics loom, while Rudimental, Passenger and The Illusionists are also selling well.
