More Great Names For Damnation 2013

Tuesday, 27 August 2013 Written by Ben Bland

Greek black metal legends Rotting Christ and respected American post-metal troupe Rosetta are the latest names to be added to the burgeoning line-up for this November’s edition of Leeds based Damnation Festival.

Joining them will be sludge and doom in the shape of Palehorse and Slabdragger, as well as progressive metal from French outfit Dirge and local grind merchants The Afternoon Gentlemen. There will also be a very special performance from the Bathory-worshipping supergroup Twilight of the Gods, led by Primordial frontman Alan Averill and also featuring members of Aura Noir and Lock Up.

This announcement comes shortly after a four stage line-up for Damnation 2013 was confirmed, allowing more of the heaviest music around to be on display for the legions of metal fans who make the annual pilgrimage to Leeds. Other bands already named on the bill include headliners Carcass, Swedish post-metal luminaries Cult of LunaKatatoniaGod Seed and The Ocean.

Festival organiser Gavin McInally wishes to thank fans for their support this year in making a fourth stage possible, emphasising that, “With our newly proposed timetable, fans will be able to see more bands in a day than at any other year”. If that and the superb line-up don’t tempt you then nothing will.

Damnation 2013 takes place at Leeds University Student’s Union on November 2 2013. Tickets are available now from www.leedstickets.co.uk for just £34. Visit www.damnationfestival.co.uk for more information.
