Foo Fighters hinted at a possible return to Wembley Stadium during their club show at Brighton’s Concorde 2 last night.
The NME reports that, amid a set packed with oft-neglected songs, Dave Grohl mentioned the venue when discussing the difference between the band's usual haunts and their current run of pop-up shows.
The band, billed as the Holy Shits, will also play London’s House Of Vans and one further club show this week before headlining the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games on Sunday. Grohl is reported to have said:
"I seem to remember years ago we played this club and it was also hot as balls. When we were asked to come over and play the Invictus Games on Sunday I thought 'we haven't played in the UK in years, and I thought we'd try to play gigs like this pretty much every night we're here until we have to go home. And it gives us a chance to see your faces before we play that week at Wembley Stadium. "
The band’s eighth album, ‘Sonic Highways’, is expected on November 10 and will be preceded by a HBO documentary of the same name.
