Mastodon Tease New Album With Video Post

Monday, 23 January 2017 Written by Laura Johnson

Mastodon have teased a new album with a video.

The Georgia metallers hinted at a follow up to 2014's 'Once More 'Round the Sun' in a minute long clip where bassist Troy Sanders discusses preparing to to record a new album. The video ends with the words "coming soon".

Since their last record the members have been busy with their respective side projects. Brent Hinds teamed up with Tool drummer Danny Carey and Off! and Burning Brides guitarist Dimitri Coats in 2015 to create Legend Of The Seagullmen and early last year Sanders joined forces with At The Drive In's Tony Hajjar, Queens Of The Stone Age's guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen and guitarist-keyboardist Mike Zarin to form Gone Is Gone, who released their debut LP, 'Echolation', earlier this month.

Mastodon will return to the UK this summer to play the main stage at Download festival.
