Stormzy, Ed Sheeran, Kate Tempest And The Big Moon Among Mercury Prize Nominees

Stormzy, Ed Sheeran, Kate Tempest and the Big Moon are among the nominees for this year's Mercury Prize.

Stormzy has been put forward for his debut album, 'Gang Signs & Prayer', Ed Sheeran is in the running with '÷', Kate Tempest for 'Let Them Eat Chaos' and the Big Moon with their debut LP, 'Love In The 4th Dimension', with the winners set to succeed Skepta​.   • Stormzy - 'Gang Signs & Prayer'
  • The Big Moon - 'Love In The 4th Dimension'

Speaking about the shortlist the judging panel, which you can check out here, said:

“This year’s Hyundai Mercury Prize shortlist celebrates the remarkable power of British music. What these artists have in common is an infectious pleasure in music making and an arresting sense of urgency about the music they make. They delight in exploring musical possibilities and refusing to be pinned down by genre conventions.”

The winner will be announced at a ceremony at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, London on September 14.
