Johnny Marr has teamed up with actress Maxine Peake for a new short film and track.
The Priest, which is the first taster of their upcoming collaborative project, which will pair Peake’s spoken word with Marr’s music, takes its words from a diary entry piece written for The Big Issue by Joe Gallagher during his first few days of becoming homeless in Edinburgh in 2015.
The film, meanwhile, was filmed in Manchester and features Molly Windsor, who appeared alongside Peake in the BBC programme Three Girls.
The Priest will be followed by the release of Marr’s third solo album in spring 2018.
